Stories about my experiences and experiments.

  • TAFE classes

This year I am fulfilling a long held dream. I have enrolled in the TAFE advanced wheel throwing course. Between September and November I will have 8 sessions. The teacher is a good thrower and good at explaining. The other members of the class are also very skilled and experienced so it’s wonderful to spend time with this group of people.

This is a wonderful opportunity to sharpen my skills and learn new things.

TAFE students work at mid fire (cone 6) as well as high fire stoneware (cone 10). It’s so exciting to be able to work with high fire reduction glazes. You can see examples under My Work | 2025

17th August 2018 I facilitated a short demonstration and workshop on brushwork decoration on pottery at the St George Potters Association members meeting.

Below is a link to download the notes from the workshop.  The notes include recipes for slips and pigments as well as samples of brushwork designs.
